tamil script is an indo-aryan, brahmic, uncial script developed during the 1st and 2nd centuries. it uses a combination of 26 consonantal and 7 half-vowel symbols. it is also written from right to left, like english.
words in tamil do not fit the way english words are constructed. they have affixes and inflections attached to them. these affixes and inflections are extra-special letters on top of the character that words were composed of. you can type them by typing a dash for a portion of the affix and the letter for the root of the word. you can also type them using words in the dictionary. if you want to add a word, you can insert it into the sentence and mark it with a strike-through or cursor with a direct link to the word.
any characters in the tamil script are just represented by a string of dots. the dots are what is notated when you type a tamil character. the dots represent the letter components of the character. every word in a written language is composed of a root or word stem and an affix. for the tamil script, the affixes form syllabic onsets. there are 12 consonants, 1 vowel and 2 silence (markers for words that are repeated). the consonant and consonant + vowel portion of a tamil word is a single unit. if a tamil word consists of a single consonant, it will be a consonant onset. if a word consists of a consonant plus a vowel, then it is a consonant-vowel onset. if a word consists of 2 or more consonants, then it is a consonant cluster.
the google translate extension can bring up words in the input language from the stored translation in the background. translate to tamil has its own structure to work with the tamil language as google does with english and other languages. 3d9ccd7d82
