In the sixth-season episode \"Father's Day\", the twins meet their biological father Matt Sullivan (played by Tony Carriero), a white famous photojournalist who never married their mother, Racelle Gavin, because they never got the chance: she was asked to paint a mural in Florida and he was assigned \"the opportunity of a lifetime\" in the Middle East; when he left, Racelle told him she'd join him in Tel Aviv but never mentioned her pregnancy, and after 6 months she stopped writing. When she died, Matt wasn't allowed to see the girls because he couldn't prove he was their father, and when he searched for them later, he never found them because they had been adopted separately.
For the first five seasons, the series often had Tia and Tamera, either together or separately, break the fourth wall by talking directly to the viewer.[7] During the ABC run, Tia and Tamera would address the audience on some of the goings on in the storyline involving them and occasionally other main characters, usually Roger. After the series moved to The WB, the breaking of the fourth wall was limited mainly to certain episodes and usually only in the teaser scenes and featured increasingly less often by the fourth season. For some of the episodes in the fifth season, it was included but was dropped by the middle of the fifth season. The sixth and final season was the only season that did not include it. Many of the episodes from the third season up to the sixth season also featured bloopers at the end of some of them, playing during the ending credits.
The series' original theme song was written and composed by Tim Heintz, Randy Petersen and Kevin Quinn.[8] Season one was the only season using the full version, with the short middle instrumental portion, vocalizations and the line \"Living underneath one roof, no it won't be trouble-proof\" dropped in season 2, though the short instrumental and vocalizations were restored in season 3. Performers for this version that was played from seasons 1-4 is unknown, as no evidence is revealed at this time, though many fans believed it was either Shanice or En Vogue. An updated version of the theme song was used starting in Season 5, composed by Heintz, Petersen, Quinn and Kurt Farquhar, who composed the music score for most of the series (save for Season 3, when the score was composed by Paul A. Kreiling), and performed by Tia and Tamera Mowry; this version used the same tune, but a slower tempo and lyrics that emphasized the two characters' differences and increased maturity. The season 5 version of the theme began with the end of the original theme prior to the start of the theme song. An instrumental version of the final theme was used as a closing theme for the final two seasons, though with the exception of the episode \"Designer Genes\", it was generally played over a blooper reel during the closing credits.
Seasons 3 and 4 used a computer-animated sequence by Pittard-Sullivan, with the main cast's video headshots in a stop-motion effect, opening with two babies drifting away from each other into two backgrounds: one, the city (which is actually the pre-September 11, 2001 Manhattan skyline, despite the fact the series was set in Detroit) and the other, a country road with the word \"separated\" between them, then showing Ray and Lisa each holding babies in a similar manner as the previous sequence with a rotating \"adopted\", then showing the cast in front of different backdrops (some of which include cutouts of objects). It ends with Tia, Tamera, Ray, who is reading from a newspaper, and Lisa walking into each other, then getting themselves tangled together over changing cloud backdrops, one which features two roadsigns, before the title logo appears. The cast's surnames are animated and in a variant of the show's logotype. This was the only time the intro remained exactly the same, though, by season four, the intro became a bit outdated as Tia and Tamera dropped the wavy hair, tams and plaid outfits for straight hair and trendier fashions, and Roger stopped wearing braids.
Brothers and Sisters follows the lives of The Walker Family who include: Nora Walker, her brother Saul and her children Sarah, Kitty, Tommy, Kevin, and Justin. The series began with the death of Nora's husband William Walker and follows the discovery that he had a twenty-year affair with Holly Harper and the fact that William and Holly had a child together, Rebecca, that no one knew about. As well as this central plot bringing the family together, each character must deal with the events of their personal lives.
The Squid Sisters are a pop idol duo in Inkopolis, consisting of Callie and Marie. In Splatoon, they host Inkopolis News together, announcing events, updates, and the current stages in rotation. They are also former hosts of Splatfest events, each representing one of the two teams. Despite their name, they are actually cousins, not sisters.
Callie's color scheme is magenta and black. She has an more outgoing design in comparison to her cousin, with angular eyes and perked-up ears. Her tentacles are long and black, tied in a large bow on the back of her head and fading to pink on the ends. She is very excitable and positive, often making innocent, straightforward comments with a grin on her face. Her solo song, Bomb Rush Blush, is a fast-paced and exuberant pop song, showing her energy and playfulness as she runs around the stage.[2]
The Squid Sisters also hosted Splatfest events, a multiplayer event in which players of a region divided into opposing team, with Callie and Marie each representing a different team. Callie's team was always shown on the left side of the Splatfest artwork and Marie's team on the right. For the duration of the event, their clothes and tentacles temporarily changed color to match that of their team's ink and they performed a live concert in Inkopolis atop trucks outfitted with stage equipment.
At the top-left corner of the box showing the player's Splatfest Power was a pair of eyes representing the Squid Sister they had sided with: players on Callie's team saw her angular eyes, and those on Marie's team saw her heavy-lidded eyes. Both versions had their signature pupils, but with a dark red color instead of the usual gold.
The Squid Sisters reunite at the end of the Octo Canyon missions. Callie later mentions that they have performed alongside Off the Hook, referencing the real-life concerts in which they performed together.
In Splatoon, using the Squid Sisters' amiibo applies all the cosmetic changes of a Splatfest to Inkopolis Plaza and the player can choose what song they perform. This is the only way to see the accompanying dances for these songs, except for City of Color, which was the default for Splatfests. In Splatoon 2, attempting to use either of the Squid Sisters' amiibo prior to finishing the Octo Canyon single-player campaign brings up a letter explaining that they are busy and that they are unable to be summoned. When the campaign is finished, the player will be able to use the respective amiibo to take pictures with Callie or Marie in Inkopolis Square, as well as unlock exclusive gear and songs on Squid Beatz 2 after winning a certain amount of battles.
ADAM is excreted by unique Sea Slugs found near Rapture. The ADAM-producing Sea Slugs did not naturally produce a large enough quantity for serious research and commercial exploitation. Dr. Brigid Tenenbaum developed a procedure whereby a Sea Slug was implanted in a human host's stomach, and a symbiotic interaction between host and slug yielded up to thirty times the quantity of usable ADAM. Young girls, nicknamed \"Little Sisters\" following the implantation process, were found to be the only viable hosts. Although Tenenbaum hoped to be able to keep the children in a vegetative state, it was found they had to be fully functional to produce the ADAM. They still maintained many of the ordinary characteristics of small children: laughing, playing, smiling, and singing.[1]
However, Tenenbaum's constant contact with the Little Sisters and their unsuppressed childlike behavior eventually resulted in a crisis of conscience and caused her to seek a way to safely remove the sea slug. In time, she was able to design a Plasmid with the ability to restore some characteristics of the Little Sister's pre-Sea Slug state. This is, however, only a physical change. For example, the appearance and voice are returned to a natural state, they lose their ADAM-producing ability and strengthened healing factor, and are less prone to enragement and fear, recognizing the player as a friend. However, they still retain results of their mental conditioning, still treating Big Daddies as parental figures, seeing the world in a dream-like wonderland with angels, and instinctively using Vents or using their extractors to drain corpses of ADAM. Presumably, the mental conditioning requires a different cure. Tenenbaum established a safe house for restored Little Sisters in the tunnels beneath Olympus Heights for that purpose.
The only attack that can affect Little Sisters is the splash damage of a grenade. When a Little Sister is in the vicinity of a thrown grenade, she will become ragdollish and move with the splash impulse as she is briefly knocked unconscious, then stand back up. Little Sisters can even survive being underwater. In BioShock 2, there is one instance where the player can see Little Sisters underwater. If the player rescued all of the Little Sisters in BioShock 2, then they are used by Eleanor to help boil away the water in the ballast chamber of Augustus Sinclair's lifeboat. In that scene, the Sisters stay underwater for a prolonged period as they boil the water.
There are a total of 21 Little Sisters which can be rescued or harvested, disregarding any extra Little Sisters which may appear as a result of glitches. If the player harvests all 21 of these Little Sisters, they will gain a total of 3360 ADAM throughout the game. If the player rescues all of the Little Sisters, and finds all of the gifts from Dr. Tenenbaum, they will earn a total of 3080 ADAM and a number of Gene Tonics. Accessing the start menu will reveal the number of Little Sisters in the player's current level, as well as their current status. 59ce067264
